We're happy to announce that our company PALMERA has received the World Golf Awards for The Dominican Republic's Best Inbound Golf Tour Operator 2020. This is the 3rd consecutive year that we have received this award.
A big congratulations from us to all other winners and nominees in the Dominican Republic!
The Dominican Republic is slowly, but surely, working on bringing back tourism! Most hotels are open again, although with limited capacity and emphasis on hygiene, proper sanitizing, and social distancing.
Vacation villas are available for tourists who prefer their own space, and flights are starting to come back at a regular pace. Many airlines from Europe, Canada, and the USA have resumed routes to the Dominican Republic.
According to reports from Dominican Today and Punta Cana International Airport, Air France has confirmed 5800+ seats to Punta Cana this winter. Southwest Airlines has resumed flights from Baltimore, USA, to Punta Cana. Sunwing Airlines and Air Canada have relaunched their route from Toronto to Punta Cana and Frontier is once again flying from Philadelphia to Punta Cana. These are just a few examples of airlines that are available to bring tourists back to the destination.
Cruise ships are also allowed back to the Dominican Republic. On Nov. 1, 2020, the Dominican government lifted its restrictions on cruise ship arrivals. From January to March 2020, 344.485 tourists arrived in the Dominican Republic on a cruise ship. Ports of entry for cruises include Santo Domingo, Puerto Plata, La Romana, and Cap Cana.

If you're traveling to or currently on vacation in the Dominican Republic, please note that the national curfew has been extended by another 20 days. The curfew is currently in effect until December 1, 2020. Curfew hours are:
Monday to Friday: 9 pm - 5 am
Saturday to Sunday: 7 pm - 5 am
Hotel guests are not required to follow these guidelines within their resort property, but they will be limited to stay within the property during the associated hours.
During curfew hours, the transit of tourists and vehicle operators who transport them is allowed if they are moving to/from a port or an airport.
