Happy Holidays from the Dominican Republic

What's new in the Dominican Republic

Happy Holidays from the Dominican Republic! We just read that the Dominican Republic is one of the countries in the Caribbean where tourism is bouncing back the best. Of course, numbers are nowhere near normal and airline flights are down 43% compared to pre-Covid times.

On Monday, The Dominican Minister of Tourism said that recovery expectations for this month are satisfactory and will look even better now that major airlines from Germany and France are restarting service to the Dominican Republic. The Minister of Tourism also pointed out that "between November and April, 84 new flight routes were approved, with more than 870.000 seats available."

Covid-19 cases: 150.161
Last 24h: +531
Deaths: 2350 (1.56%)
Recoveries: 118.008

These numbers are subject to change without notice. The number of "Covid-19 cases" and "deaths" indicate the total numbers reported in the Dominican Republic (pop. est. 10.85 million) since March 2020.
