What's new in the Dominican Republic?

In a recent press release, the Dominican Ministry of Tourism announced that the Dominican Republic will implement a new electronic ticket portal for arrivals and departures.

Starting November 29, 2020, the Dominican Republic will adopt a new electronic system providing digital versions of the Traveler's Health Affidavit, Customs Declaration, and International Boarding/Disembarking forms, combined in a single digital form. All passengers entering and departing the country will be required to fill out and submit their digital forms through the Electronic Ticket Portal either before or upon their arrival to the country.

These numbers are subject to change without notice. The number of "Covid-19 cases" and "deaths" indicate the total numbers reported in the Dominican Republic (pop. est. 10.85 million) since March 2020.

Travel to the Dominican Republic:

Great news for U.S. and Canadian travelers: Airlines are increasing flights this Holiday season.

JetBlue has added flights to the Dominican Republic to support the Holiday season demand and will offer nonstop flights from New York (JFK airport) to Santiago and Santo Domingo airports. JetBlue will also offer nonstop flights from Newark to Punta Cana.

United Airlines is increasing service to Latin American & Caribbean destinations including Punta Cana.

Check out your estimated flight times from major U.S. cities to Punta Cana, Dominican Republic.

Canadians can look to airlines such as WestJet, Air Canada, and Air Transat to fly them to the Dominican Republic.
