A fun day where kids and adults can explore the Eco Park in Punta Cana. On this excursion, you’ll learn about the ecological foundation and park at Puntacana Resort – leaders in sustainable tourism in Punta Cana.
Discover a world that goes beyond the beach and learn about indigenous species such as the Rhinoceros Iguanas, a threatened species found mainly on the island of Hispaniola (Dominican Republic & Haiti). You’ll also learn about the endangered Ridgway’s Hawk, another native of the island and under the protection of The Peregrine Fund. There are only about 300 remaining individuals in the wild, making this particular bird very vulnerable to extinction due to loss of natural habitat and human persecution.
Our guides will take you on a fun and educational journey through the park, its trails, gardens and beautiful landscape. You’ll go for a comfortable ride in golf carts to Playa Serena (one of the most beautiful beaches in the area), to see a “typical house”, visit the ranch and see the Ecological Foundation where we recycle and compost and also visit the bee farm.
The day ends with the best…a short walk through the forest to the pristine Indigenous Eyes. These are freshwater lagoons hidden in the forest and part of an ancient eco system dating back to the time of the island’s indigenous people - the Taino Indians. You’ll get the opportunity to jump in for a refreshing and rejuvenating swim in the Gri Gri lagoon.
This is an excellent tour for families that want to get to know a different side of Punta Cana.
