BARCELO THE LAKES

P. B. Dye, completely re-designed this golf course and turned it into one of the best inland courses in the Caribbean. Located at the Barcelo Bavaro Grand Resort in Punta Cana, this 18-hole golf course plays through one of the most beautiful settings in the Dominican Republic, Barcelo The Lakes offers and incredibly unique nature experience.

Waterways and big lakes come into play on 17 out of the 18 holes, and the nature wildlife is unlike any other. During a round on Barcelo The Lakes, you might see flamingos and ibis birds as well as turtles and huge tarpons in the lakes.

The course is not long, but fairways, an island green and well hidden bunkers are some of the challenges which await the golfers who come to experience the natural beauty of this course.

Golf course facilities include driving range, restaurant & bar ($), pro shop ($), shower and locker rooms.

WHAT TO WEAR AND/OR BRING:

Wear proper golf attire and golf shoes with soft spikes or tennis shoes, sun glasses, a golf cap, sun lotion and mosquito repellent (if playing early in the morning). Bring golf clubs (one set of clubs per player), balls, tees, gloves and cash money (US$) for food, beverages, souvenirs and gratuities.

IMPORTANT TO KNOW:

• Tee times can be booked up to 90 days in advance.
• Transportation from Bayahibe and La Romana areas is available at an additional fee ($).
• Transportation is shared and the driver may need to pass by other hotels to pick up and/or drop off other people to/from the golf course.
• Golf players must wear proper golf attire (Men: Collared polo shirt with sleeves, golf slacks/shorts, closed golf shoes with soft spikes or tennis shoes. Women: Collared polo shirt with/without sleeves, golf slacks/shorts/skirt/skort, closed golf shoes with soft spikes or tennis shoes). No jeans.
• Rental clubs are available ($).
• Caddies are not available on this golf course.
• The golf course will fill each tee time with 4 golfers. Non-golfers (riders) are allowed at an additional charge.
• The golf cart is mandatory. Walking the course is not permitted for players and non-golfers. Pull/push carts are not permitted.
• In case of bad weather, it is entirely up to the decision of the golf director of the golf course whether or not a rain check will be issued (there may be an additional charge for transportation).
